When it comes to buying clothes for children, boys are by far the most difficult. Although young girls are notoriously fussy, and it is frequently difficult to find a balance between suitable fashions - they always want to wear clothing intended for older children, such as teenagers and adults, boys are problematic in different ways. Many boys nowadays enjoy wearing fashionable clothes, so parents have a hard time shopping for boy clothes too. However, there are more considerations to take account of when shopping for boys.

Boys are always active, jumping, running, climbing, ducking, diving, name it, they probably do it. And, unfortunately, as many parents will be able to testify, these activities tend to have a significant impact on their clothing. Boys frequently tear their clothes, engaging in rough play as they do. They stain their clothes quite a lot too.

So, when choosing boys clothes, one of the first considerations you should be thinking about is how durable the clothing is. Are the clothes of sufficient quality, so that they can endure plenty of physical activity, is the clothing heavy-duty, and yet light enough for boys to play in? Rather, you should be buying styles of clothing suitable for their everyday activities, buy nice clothes for special occasions, such as Christmas or family weddings, etc, but the rest of the time, allow them to wear casual, and hard wearing, clothing.

If your child is interested in fashion, then every once in a while, you should allow them to choose their own outfits. More often than not, you will disagree with their choice of clothing - this is a common problem experienced between most parents and their children. However, by doing so, you allow them to develop a sense of style when they are young, and by the time they reach teen hood, and early adolescence, they will probably have developed a sense of style that you agree with. Allow them to make fashion mistakes while they are young, this avoids some of the rebelliousness associated with being a teenager.
